Mr. Ocampo in the Czech Republic and Moravia

Mr. Ambeth R. Ocampo is a Filipino historian, academician, reporter, cultural administrator and writer. He contributes articles to front page of periodical Philippine Daily Inquirer. He has served as the Chairman of the National Historical Commission of the Philippines and concurrently Chairman of the National Commission for Culture and the Arts 2002 – 2011.

Ocampo visited the Czech Republic under the auspices of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and CzechTourism at the beginning of April. He went to see Ceske Budejovice, Cesky Krumlov, Litomerice, Olomouc, Prague and Brno. Thanks to gaining a lot of experiences, Ocampo will represent beauties of the Czech Republic to potential Filipino tourists.

Visitation in Moravia was organized by Philippine Honorary Consulate General in Brno. Mr. Ocampo was guided in Vila Tugendhat, Casemates in Spilberk Castle.  Moreover he spent time in Lednice – Valtice Cultural Landscape and he did not miss a sightseeing tour through Templar cellars in Cejkovice where he was feasted, too. The last day Ocampo spent in Olomouc. Collection of Research Library of Olomouc fascinated him, especially, the oldest and the most well-preserved map of Philippines in the world.
