,,Rizal day“

On 30.12.2017, a meeting called ,,Rizal Day“ was held on the anniversary of Rizel´s death, in which was agreed between the Philippine Chamber for the Czech Republic and Slovakia (headed by Ing. Břetislav Skácel) and Knights of Rizal in Prague on placing a memorial plaque in honor of José Rizal in the Grand Hotel in Brno. José Rizal (1861 – 1896) was a Filipino writer, nationalist, doctor and polymath, whose life and literary work were inspiration for Philippine independence movement. He is the national hero of the Philippine Republic. During his life, he traveled and visited many countries such as Belgion, England, Japan, or Austria-Hungary and the USA. He was also passing the Brno, and stayed in place where is currently situated the Grand Hotel. In these days you can find his portrait on the walls of Grand Hotel.
