Traveling – Covid-19

Filipinos can travel if they purchase a round-trip ticket, arrange travel medical insurance that will cover costs in case it will be needed such as hospitalization and accommodation, comply with the visa regulations of the recipient country, fill in „a risk awareness form“ and follow the instructions issued by the National Task Force (NITF). By the Czech Republic the Philippines is considered as a country with a very high risk of developing Covid-19 disease so there is an obligation to make a PCR test on arrival, at the earliest on the fifth day after arrival, until then self-isolation is required, and it is also mandatory for employees and students to submit the test result to the employer or school.

Due to the spread of Covid-19, the Philippines has been in a state of calamity since March 2020 and it has been declared until 12 September 2021. Since the beginning of the epidemic, the Philippine government has applied strict quarantine measures which vary according to areas. Overall, entry for foreigners to the Philippine territory is restricted, for Czech citizens the 30-day visa-free stay is suspended. In general, the Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs recommends travelling to the Philippines only in urgent and necessary cases.

Travelling to the Philippines is not generally possible from the Czech Republic, the Philippine government has banned the arrival of foreigners with few exceptions: visas and an official exemption are required, there is a daily quota for arrivals of 1500 people. Upon arrival, the foreigner must be quarantined for 10 days in a facility set up by the Philippine authorities. After 10 days he must remain in another, home quarantine for four more days.
